I was born in Ogden, Utah and always knew I was going to be in the health profession. I started college at Weber State University studying biology with the intent of getting into dental school. After a two-year hiatus on an LDS mission in South Africa where I had a wonderful time meeting people and exploring a new country with many exotic animals, I met and married my wife, Theresa. I was accepted to the prestigious Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, where I was the proud recipient of many awards for clinical excellence.
My family and I love living and working in St. George. It is a wonderful place to raise our two sets of twins. We enjoy tennis, hiking, mountain biking, softball and, of course, golf. We also enjoy and support the local theater, watching and acting. I recently played Uncle Max in the Sound of Music with my wife (Frau Schmidt) and daughters (Brigitta, Marta, Nun) in the show. If you attend the local theater, there is a good chance you will see my family and me sometime on the stage! We look forward to getting to know you as patients and friends.
My ultimate goal is to give patients smiles that they love. I do this by offering comprehensive care, including cosmetic and restorative dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics, periodontal care and more. These specialties can do more than make you look good; they can boost your self-esteem and give you a lifetime of happiness.
What’s more, my artistic ability along with my dedication to perfection have greatly enhanced my expertise as a dentist. This gives me the sensitivity and skill required to create the beautiful, natural-looking smiles.
I also believe that in order to provide high-quality dentistry, a patient can’t be rushed. That’s why I will spend the time necessary with you to fully understand what you desire for your smile. This includes asking what your expectations are, answering all of your questions, and explaining your treatment options in great detail. It’s the same kind of friendly, highly personalized dental care that I would want for myself.
Theresa Olsen – Accounting
My name is Theresa Olsen and I am Dr. Olsen’s wife. I have worked at Red Cliffs Dental for 14 years doing payroll, accounts payable and advertising. I enjoy seeing and visiting with the many patients that have become friends over the years. We have the most wonderful patients! A lady the other day said to me, “You are so lucky to have a great husband who is also a great dentist!”. I completely agree with her. I have been able to watch over the years as my husband has transformed many patients’ lives by transforming their smiles and teeth. It has been a great experience to be a part of. I keep busy at home with 16 year old twins and 11 year old twins. My family is the best part of my life. In my spare time, I enjoy working out and reading. I hope if you are reading this, you can become a part of the Red Cliffs Dental family. It is a great place to be!
Jenny Smith – Front Office Coordinator
My life journey began in the Bay Area of California. My husband and I moved to St. George after graduating with English degrees. Music is a big part of my life. I play the organ for my religious congregation, and even get to teach songs to the children there! Above all, I love to sing. I’m a foodie- always looking forward to my next meal or snack. My husband and I love to go out to eat, watch great movies, and read, of course! I am so blessed in so many ways- both personally and professionally.
In 2002, I had the opportunity to join this team – back when I was a wee babe. Currently, as Front Office Coordinator, my responsibilities are varied and suit my strengths. I love working with people, so welcoming patients and managing patient flow are tasks I truly enjoy! I also have a great concern for accuracy, which is helpful with scheduling and electronic claims submission (and pretty much everything else I do). I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in the front office!
Treo Sanders – Dental Hygienist
I am from the small town of Fillmore Utah. Although there is not much to do there, I learned to work hard and play hard. After graduating from Millard High, I went to Dixie College where I received my associates degree. I was a Dental Assistant for 4 years while trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life. I loved it and decided to pursue my career in Dental Hygiene. I graduated Dental Hygiene School in 2003 and worked in Salt Lake City for the first 2 1/2 years. I met my amazing husband, Nolan, and we wanted to move back to Dixie. I was lucky enough to begin my journey with Red Cliffs Dental 2 weeks before I was married and have been working here since 2006. We now have 3 beautiful children that keep me busy outside of work along with supporting my husband who is now in Dental School at Roseman University in South Jordan Utah. That being said, my time at Red Cliffs Dental will eventually come to an end which brings tears to my eyes even thinking about it. I absolutely love my patients. I love getting to know them on a personal level and can truly call them my friends. I love being able to help them feel better about themselves and also help educate them on the importance of their oral health. I have loved being a part of helping people overcome their fears of dental treatment and seeing their transformations. Dr. Olsen is so great to work for and he is an amazing Dentist. Our Teams goal is to do all we can to make you feel as important as we believe you are.
Megan Baxter – Hygiene Assistant
I was born & raised in Utah and love everything it has to offer: hiking, site seeing, boating and anything adventurous! I was lucky to have been able to be a stay at home mom to raise my 2 kids who are the light of my life. I found my passion in 2006 when I completed my certification to become a dental assistant. I have loved being our dental hygienist assistant since May 2013. Getting to know our patients has been very exciting! My goal of making people happy & brightening up their day is a success every day because of our family here at Red Cliffs Dental.
Lauren Jardino – Dental Assistant
I have lived in St. George since I was 10 years old and consider this my home. I went to Tuacahn High School and am finishing my Associates of Science at Dixie State University. I am married to my best friend, Joseph, and together we have formed a beautiful little family that consists of a cat and a dog.
I have been Dental Assisting since May of 2014 and find it incredibly rewarding. I joined the Red Cliffs Dental family in September of 2015 and love being apart of a team that really cares and wants to make a difference in our patient’s lives.
